The Bhopal unit runs two cadre associations that bargain separately where cadres differ and jointly where the bank's future is at stake.
MPGBEA
मध्य प्रदेश ग्रामीण बैंक कर्मचारी संघ
The employees' association represents clerical staff, Special Customer Service Associates and sub-staff across every region of the bank. It is affiliated to the National Federation of RRB Employees (NFRRBE).
Its general body meets annually and elects the executive committee. The most recent general body was held at Chhindwara on 1 February 2026, where the new executive committee was elected unopposed.
MPGBOA
मध्य प्रदेश ग्रामीण बैंक अधिकारी संघ
The officers' association represents officers in all scales and is affiliated to the National Federation of RRB Officers (NFRRBO), the largest officers' federation in the Gramin Bank sector.
MPGBOA carries officer grievances to management in writing, sits in joint consultation, and coordinates with MPGBEA on issues that affect both cadres.
From the branch to the national table
Both associations sit inside the AIRRBEA structure, which is how a grievance raised at a branch in Madhya Pradesh reaches the Department of Financial Services.

AIRRBEA is also associated internationally with the World Federation of Trade Unions through its financial-sector wing.
Equal pay for equal work
The defining win of this movement was the National Industrial Tribunal constituted in November 1987 under Justice Obul Reddy, retired Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. AIRRBEA argued the case on behalf of roughly 80% of Gramin Bank staff, covering every category from officers down to sweepers.
The award delivered on 30 April 1990 entitled Gramin Bank employees and officers to the same pay, allowances and benefits as their counterparts in sponsor banks, with effect from 1 September 1987. Sub-staff were regularised from their date of employment.
Everything since — service regulations, settlement coverage, pension claims — has been built on that foundation. The work that remains is parity in the benefits that were left out.
